With the departure of Alberto Gonzales, we now have the opportunity to set things straight and restore respect for our Constitution and the rule of law.
To do that, we must make sure that the next Attorney General isn't just more of the same. When John Ashcroft resigned, we thought the worst was over. But looking back, Alberto Gonzales may have been more harmful than Ashcroft ever was.
