Statement by Senator Ted Kennedy on FDA Response to Institute of Medicine Report on Drug Safety
Washington, D.C., January 30th, 2007 - Today, Senator Edward M. Kennedy released the following statement on the FDA's response to the Institute of Medicine report on drug safety:
"Effective action is needed so Americans can trust that the medicines they take are as safe as they possibly can be. Today's report is thoughtful, and provides important recommendations for administrative action, but only legislation can give FDA the tools it needs to ensure that the agency is the gold standard for safety."
